Polished Alloy Wheel Diamond Cutting

Price From: £95

A process for repairing polished wheels on a specialist machine restoring to original condition. Wheel inserts are repaired if damaged or can be changed colour.

Process

Cleaned - Wheels cleaned using specialist non aggressive wheel clean. This gets rid of all dirt, grit and tar.

Remove tyres - Tyres are removed on our special machine. The tyres and wheels are then marked with a unique code to make sure they are reattached correctly.

Preparation - The alloys are then etched on our blasting machine, this removes any old lacquer and prepares them for the rest of the process.

Probe - The wheel is then placed on the lathe, where it is probed from the centre to the edge. This ensures the cutting is as precise as possible.

Cutting - The diamond cutting process starts as the wheel starts spinning very fast held in by a rotary cylinder. The diamond tipped knife slowly gets closer to the wheel. The is on an electric mechanism which allows it to guide smoothly along, following the probes scanned route. This ensures the alloy is not damaged by the high speed of the cutting.

This is a gradual process as the knife moves closer to the wheel and only takes off shavings as thin as a hair. This is done as many times as necessary to remove all marks.

Lacquered - Finally the wheels are lacquered with our special diamond cut lacquer to protect the wheels against everyday wear and tear.
